“Watercolor exacts a discipline unlike any other medium yet it is one of the most liberating.”
Roland Richardson
“Because it is fluid, watercolor is closer to nature than other mediums which are more material. I love to use it as a totally liquid medium, strokes of translucent color I let dry before adding another dimension, thus glazing to gain depth in dimension and richness of color.
Working from life on location with watercolor is challenging and also liberating with its portability. The effect I pursue most resembles stained glass where Light dominates and passes through the layers of color dispersed by water”
