Which Way's Up?

“Wave Patterns, David’s Hole”.jpg

I’ve seen the swing
of ebb and flow,
from wax to wane,
from high to low,

I’ve seen the cup half empty
then I’ve seen that cup
half full again,

What goes up must come down,
but up and down’s
viewed from the ground,

A b’s a d,
A q’s a p,
when freed in
spatial reverie,

 As Earth’s rotation
brings on night
by quickly blocking
the Sun’s light,

 when China’s dark and
we’re in day,
are we behind?
Ahead? Astray?

The reason for the season is
when you’re standing where.
It changes with a simple choice
of being here or there.

From North to South,
from East to West,
Please tell me which direction’s best!

A nickel and five pennies find
their equal value in a dime,
but, boy, you could not convince my son,
when he was five,
that six made one!

 Best not to judge,
Here’s what I say…
To find the joy
in every day,
make play your work,
and work, your play!
